AIC F.A.Q.

 1. How long does it take to complete the review process?

The length of time is dependent upon how quickly references get back to the reviewer and the completeness of the application. If documents are missing, it can take additional time to process the application.

2. I live in a country that does not follow one of the components of the AIC? Can I still get the AIC designation?

The AIC International program takes into a consideration the best business practices in the applicant's country. This provision allows for AIC if a company adheres to the best business practices in the applicant's country. The designation will say AIC followed by the country name. Contact IAGI for additional information about this topic.

3. Do my competitors see the data I submit?

No, the application is reviewed by a third party who reports only whether a company met the requirements of AIC.

4. Do I have to have Certified Welding Technicians (CWTs) to receive AIC?

Yes, you need to have at least 15 percent of your crew members must hold a current CWT.
